Chandon surprises the year after year by inviting the most important contemporary Latin American artists to present a work in the Chandon Space. For this new edition of arteBA, which is open to the public from May 24 to 27, Chandon chose Eduardo Basualdo to offer a different experience to the visitors of the fair through his installation "Freelancer". In addition, Chandon is once again the sponsor of the ArteBA Young Quarter, the space of the fair where galleries and spaces that represent artists of young trajectory participate.

arteBA Fundación announces a new edition of Solo Show Zurich at arteBA 2017, set to take place from Wednesday May 24th to Saturday, May 27th at La Rural in Buenos Aires. For this year’s edition, Sofía Hernández Chong Cuy (curator for contemporary art at the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros, New York and Caracas) has been incorporated to curate the section. 

Henrique Faria Buenos Aires gallery celebrates the presence of artists Marta Minujín and Nicolás García Uriburu in Documenta 14 Athens-Kassel and the 57th edition of the Venice Biennial respectively. The Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, run by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, presents te exhibition Diego Bianchi: The Charming Present which will run until Sunday, 6 August.

Liliana Porter conceived the work Man with an axe, 2017, which will be presented for the first time at the Arsenale in Venice. The piece is the culmination of a series of works created in the last several years, in which Porter positions a tiny, solitary character in front of a pile of material completely out-of-proportion to their size or ability.

From Thursday, April 27 until June 10, it is possible to see "Distorsions and Imperfections", the new exhibition by the Guatemalan artist Sandra Monterroso in The 9.99 gallery.

Cecilia Brunson Projects Santiago announces a solo exhibition by acclaimed Mexican photographer Graciela Iturbide. With works spanning four decades (from 1969 – 2007), the exhibition presents key moments from the artist’s career, including some of her most iconic images.

The decisive participation of Sofía Imber in the development of the journalism, art criticism, and cultural institutions of Venezuela made her one of the most influential figures in the contemporary history of the country and Latin America. 

The renowned Colombian artist died on March 19 after two weeks of hospitalization. This year was to prepare the commemoration of the 45 years of Galería de La Oficina.
