The CineClub platform features a series of films recently produced within the Argentine scene. Conceived as a platform with motivation to highlight the relationship that cinema has in the field of photography and, even more so, in that of contemporary art, CineClub establishes a promotional space for national independent cinema. The programming consists of a total of six selected films. Three of them feature photographers, the other three are feature films made by artists who use the cinematographic medium as an exploration tool.

The Blanton Museum of Art at The University of Texas at Austin will present Expanding Abstraction: Pushing the Boundaries of Painting in the Americas, 1958 to 1983 in the Butler Gallery until January, 2021. The exhibition explores material, conceptual, and formal innovation in post-war abstract painting through the Blanton’s collection of modern and contemporary art from the United States and Latin America.

BAphoto Live presents Open File, an interviews program coordinated by Marina Oybin in which artists are invited to revisit the history of their images based on an anecdote or memory linked to their personal archive. In this case, the guest photographer is Musuk Nolte and the talk focuses on his series La Resistencia del Silencio (2012-2019) (The Resistance of Silence)

This is the first international exhibition of the artist, an essential reference of the art and culture of the Peruvian Amazon.

After closing on March 16, 2020 due to the pandemic health emergency, Americas Society Art Gallery will reopen to the public on September 30.  Appointments will be available in one-hour slots, allowing groups of up to six people at a time into the gallery.

Floating Utopias presents various inflatable media at Lunds konsthall, Sweden, accompanied by an intervention in urban space. The exhibition juxtaposes historical and contemporary works and shows how inflatables may be used in artistic and activist practices: formless bundles of material are instantly transformed into voluminous and communicational artworks. It is organized by curators Artúr van Balen, Fabiola Bierhoff and Anna Hoetjes and designed in collaboration with Agustina Pascotto and Jazmin Schenone.

Glenda León is participating with a selection of her videowork in the group show From Havana with Love: The Glocal in Contemporary Cuban Art at Kunst und Kulturstiftung Opelvillen Rüsselsheim (Museum of Modern Art, Rüsselsheim, Frankfurt, Germany),  curated Beate Kemfert, Robert Funcke and Tonel.

This Saturday,August 29th, in Collection Dialogues, art collector Jean-Louis Larivière will talk with photographer and visual artista Gabriel Valansi about photography collections.

Curated by Yuko Hasegawa, this exhibition will take place until Septermber 27 in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. The title of the exhibition, Sometimes the river is the bridge, suggests the possibility of bestowing form and function onto formless things—like invisible rivers that may appear to be bridges with a particular form and function, when viewed from a different, alternative perspective.

August 27–November 15, 2020. The new cultural foundation Kulturstiftung Basel H.Geiger (KBH.G) opens its permanent exhibition space in Basel, Switzerland with this group show curated by Yina Jiménez Suriel and Pablo Guardiola in coordination with the Caribbean Art Initiative.

BAphoto, the most important art fair specialized in photography in Latin America, transforms its annual face-to-face fair for the first time into a special online edition open to the global community. From September 1 to 15, you can access BAphoto Live, the content and marketing platform for photographic art designed especially for this edition.

On September 12, the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA), located in San Antonio, Texas, will open a freshly re-envisioned installation of works from its expansive, 8,000-work Latin American Popular Art collection. The objective is that of reflecting a new approach to the interpretation and presentation of the genre. The new installation, and the broader reexamination of the collection, are being led by Lucía Abramovich, Associate Curator of Latin American Art.
