MARIO GIACOYA AT THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF VISUAL ARTS OF URUGUAY
The Ama Amoedo Foundation has announced the artists selected for its 2023 residency. The jury was formed by Miguel A. López, Solana Chehtman and Tobías Ostrander.
To celebrate the 40th year of the "Cézanne Prize" contest, the MACA Uruguay presented a retrospective exhibition with a trajectory of all the winners up to the present day. In addition, the 2022 winner of the prize was announced.

The Gurvich Museum presents TRANSHEMISFERIO: Richard Garet - Diego Masi. An unprecedented exhibition in Uruguay that focuses on migration and distance through the dialogue between the two artists. Curated by Cecilia Fajardo-Hill.

Buenos Aires - The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes inaugurated the exhibition "Carmelo Arden Quin, in the plot of constructive art", which offers an overview of the Uruguayan master's production through a hundred works from different periods of his career, exhibited along with pieces by colleagues with whom he forged links and joined artists groups. Curated by Cristina Rossi and open until November 20.
CARMELO ARDEN QUIN’S PAINTINGS AND TRANSFORMATIONS
The exhibition presents on several locations of the city of Lucca, 45 sculptures in marble, bronze and wood. The works in the streets, 16th century walls, churches and two interior spaces, can be visited until September 4.
“THE AWAKENING OF NATURE” - PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF PABLO ATCHUGARRY IN ITALY
The MACA (Atchugarry Museum of Contemporary Art) hosts until mid-April the great exhibition entitled Gráfica Encapsulada (Encapsulated Graphics) by the Argentine artist León Ferrari. The show features a series of works dating back to the 1980s.
THE MACA IN MANANTIALES EXHIBITS LEÓN FERRARI: ENCAPSULATED GRAPHICS
Goldwasser (Montevideo, 1961) will be representing Uruguay in the 59th Venice Biennale 2022 with his project Persona. Curated by Laura Malosetti Costa and Pablo Uribe, Persona disputes uniformity and disputes the idea itself of persona. Goldwasser's project was chosen by the National Visual Arts Commission in an open competition declared by the Uruguayan Ministry of Education and Culture. The Uruguay pavilion occupies a privileged spot in the Gardens of the Biennale, flanked by those of France and the United States.
GERARDO GOLDWASSER: REPRESENTING URUGUAY AT THE VENICE BIENNALE
Uruguay will have its first Night of Ideas on Thursday, January 27th, thanks to a collaboration between the Atchugarry Foundation and the French Embassy in Uruguay.
URURUGUAY JOINS LA NUIT DES IDÉES (THE NIGHT OF IDEAS)
Located on km 4.5 of Route 104 in Manantiales, where today the Pablo Atchugarry Foundation is located, the new MACA - Atchugarry Contemporary Art Museum - will seek to position Uruguay on the map of major international exhibitions. In a building project of more than 5,000 sq meters designed by the Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, the MACA and the Sculpture Park that surrounds it will be an attractive tourist and cultural destination throughout the year.
