PROCESSES OF A RESIDENCY: POETICS OF OVERFLOW AT SOLANAS ART EXPERIENCE
As part of the 2025 Latin American Residency Program, SAE presents a group exhibition that highlights the processes of production, research, and experimentation developed by eight artists in dialogue with Punta Ballena.
This January, Solanas Art Experience (SAE) inaugurated Poéticas del desborde (Poetics of overflow) within the framework of the 2025 Latin American Residency Program. Located in the heart of Solanas, Punta del Este, SAE has established itself as a cultural platform actively engaged in the artistic life of Punta Ballena and the region, fostering exchange among artists, communities, and cultural agents.
The exhibition brings together works developed by Viviana Blanco, Nicolás Janowski, Ana Calzavara, Wiki Pirela, Sofía Nercasseau, Renata Padovan, Luiza Crosman, and Franco Palioff, emerging from research and production processes shaped by situated experience and dialogue with the surrounding environment.
Curated by Natasha Ygel and Natalia Revale, Poéticas del desborde proposes a distinctive journey through an innovative exhibition design that foregrounds the experimental energy of each artist and the diversity of perspectives brought together in the project.
With the presence of the artists who traveled specifically from their countries of origin, the exhibition reaffirms a shared commitment to a program that understands residencies as long-term processes. In this regard, Natalia Revale, Program Coordinator, emphasized that institutional support and process follow-up extend beyond the in-person residency and continue throughout the year.
