OPEN CALL FOR THE 2026 INTERNATIONAL SUMMER PROGRAM
A four-week intensive residency at The Watermill Center brings together artists from diverse disciplines in an experimental and collaborative environment. Application deadline: Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The International Summer Program at The Watermill Center has opened applications for its 2026 edition. The residency brings 20 artists together for four weeks, offering a shared environment in which participants develop new work alongside emerging artists and established creative professionals from a range of countries and disciplines. The program dates are from July 5 until August 2, 2026.
Throughout the program, artists exchange ideas, share practices, attend workshops, and collaborate on projects within a communal and experimental framework that encourages creative risk-taking. The residency concludes with a festival showcasing works developed during the program, alongside pieces by renowned artists working in dance, visual arts, theater, music, and performance art.

Participants are immersed in a wide range of resources, including The Watermill Center Collection, the Library of Inspiration, and ten acres of landscaped grounds and sculpture gardens.
Applications open January 21, 2026, and are due Wednesday, February 18, 2026. All applications must be submitted through the SlideRoom online portal. Every applicant, including performers, is required to submit a project proposal. Late applications will not be accepted.
