ATHENS PHOTO FESTIVAL LAUNCHES INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL FOR 2026
Over 80 artists will be selected to exhibit at Benaki Museum / Pireos 138. Deadline: 9 March.
Athens Photo Festival has announced its international open call for the 2026 Exhibition Program, inviting artists and photographers worldwide to submit work by 9 March.
The program embraces a broad understanding of photography, welcoming submissions ranging from fine art and conceptual practice to documentary and photojournalism, as well as image-based projects that expand into installation, performance, and moving image. Its curatorial framework examines the social and cultural conditions that shape how images are produced, circulated, and interpreted today.
More than 80 artists will be selected through the open call to present their work at Benaki Museum / Pireos 138, the Main Program venue, spanning over 3,000 square metres of exhibition space, alongside an expanded network of satellite projects across the city. The festival runs from 10 June to 26 July 2026.
Selected artists will receive production support, two nights of accommodation, professional development opportunities, digital visibility, and access to portfolio reviews. Additional opportunities include participation in the Talent Lab, a fully funded residency at the Athens Photo Research Center, and year-long access to APhF Connect. All applicants are granted complimentary admission to the festival.
To participate, artists and photographers must complete the form on the official APhF website.
