TINY SPACES LAUNCHES 2026 OPEN CALL: SUSTAINABLE RESIDENCIES IN GERMANY, GREECE, AND FINLAND
The program invites artists from EU and Creative Europe countries to apply for residencies centered on slow travel, site-specific practice, and community-engaged creative processes. Application deadline: December 31.
Tiny Spaces Deep Connections has opened applications for its 2026 residency cycle, inviting artists to take part in a program that reimagines mobility and creative work through a sustainable lens. Now entering its second year, the initiative seeks creators committed to collaborative, site-specific, and community-oriented artistic practices.
The call is open to individual artists and creatives working in any medium —visual arts, text, mixed media, sound, audiovisual, digital practices, performance, design, and more— who are residents of EU or Creative Europe countries. There are no restrictions on artform; applicants must simply demonstrate a clear dedication to sustainable and context-responsive methods.
A defining feature of the TISP residencies is that the journey itself forms part of the artistic process. Air travel is excluded, and participants travel slowly to their residency site, following curated routes that include visits to art spaces within the Trans Europe Halles network and other partner venues. Each TISP studio is a recycled or repurposed environment, and artists are encouraged to work with sustainability in mind. Mentorship and opportunities to connect with local communities and fellow residents further enrich the experience.
The 2026 residencies will take place between May and August across three locations: Athens (with Communitism), Potsdam (with INWOLE), and Oulu (with TaikaBox). Artwork created throughout the travels and residencies will be archived on the project’s digital platform and later curated for exhibition during the August 2026 symposium in Oulu.
Artists can apply through the online form until 31 December 2025.
