RESEARCH AND CREATION: CRAFT LIMOGES 2026 INTERNATIONAL RESIDENCY CALL

CRAFT Limoges—the Center for Research on Fire and Earth Arts—announces its Research and Creation Residency 2026, inviting artists, designers, architects, and collectives from around the world to develop ambitious projects that push the boundaries of ceramics. For over 30 years, CRAFT has been a leading platform for contemporary creation, fostering experimentation and innovation in Limoges, a city world-renowned for its porcelain.

Running for 12 weeks between April and December 2026, the residency offers a €6,000 net grant and up to €3,000 in production support. It also includes free accommodation, one daily meal, round-trip international travel (up to €1,500), and ongoing technical and artistic assistance from specialists in Limoges porcelain.

The program encourages visionary proposals that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary approaches and aim for international resonance. The selected project will conclude with an exhibition at CRAFT and a bilingual publication documenting the creative process.

Residents will have access to a 400 m² studio equipped with electric and gas kilns, professional plaster wheels, molding tools, and basic materials. Two permanent ceramic technicians will provide support throughout, offering expertise in both traditional and innovative techniques.

Eligible applicants must have at least five years of professional experience, a record of exhibitions in recognized galleries or institutions, and the ability to work in French or English. The selection jury—composed of CRAFT’s Artistic Director, an art critic, an international curator, a renowned ceramist, and an institutional representative—will assess the originality, feasibility, and international potential of each proposal.

Applications are open until December 31, 2025, and should be sent to: contact@craft-limoges.org. Results will be announced on January 30, 2026.
