JAN VAN EYCK ACADEMIE RESIDENCY, AN INVITATION FOR RESEARCH AND EXCHANGE
The renowned post-academic institute in Maastricht is currently accepting applications for its eleven-month residencies, which will take place between January and December 2027. Application deadline: December 4, 2025.
Jan van Eyck Academie invites artists, curators, designers —ranging from graphic and fashion to social and food design—, researchers, writers, and architects from around the world to apply for its 2027 residency program. Applications must be submitted through the academy’s official website.
The program offers an eleven-month residency, running from January 15 to December 15, 2027, within a multidisciplinary environment that gathers around 36 participants per edition. Conceived as a space for work, research, and experimentation, the academy fosters artistic inquiry and cross-disciplinary collaboration, providing access to specialized workshops, technical labs, curatorial support, professional guidance, and resources for project development.

Residents are provided with a private studio and are encouraged to take part in seminars, public events, and collective projects, supported by a team of tutors and guest experts. The program aims to nurture creative processes grounded in critical reflection, openness, and cooperation, in dialogue with contemporary urgencies.
Selection results will be announced in May 2026, following an evaluation process that emphasizes conceptual strength, diversity of perspectives, and coherence between research and practice.
