GLOBAL CALL: MOONS, CASTLES, TREES AT THE WRONG BIENNALE 2025–2026
The world’s largest art bienniale returns with a curatorial proposal inviting artists to explore the meeting point between technology and imagination—without geographic or entry barriers. Application deadline: September 15, 2025.
The Wrong Biennale, described by The New York Times as “the digital world’s answer to Venice,” presents for its 2025–2026 edition the project Moons, Castles, Trees | AI Chronotopes, curated by Danish artist and photographer Kasper Bergholt in collaboration with the Copenhagen Chronotopes Art Gallery.
The exhibition calls on artists from all over the world, of any age, background, or experience, to respond to the question: “What happens when AI dances, strolls, is found?” Inspired by Nick Cave’s poem Cinnamon Horses, the curatorial concept draws on poetic imagery: horses dancing under strawberry moons, castle ruins, and turpentine trees.
With an open, decentralized format—no central venue and no fees—the bienniale offers an inclusive space for disciplines such as photography, new media, mixed media, and painting. Text works are also accepted. Submissions may be analog, digital, AI-generated, or any combination of these, but must be still images—between one and six works—centered on the thematic dialogue between synthetic creativity and temporal displacement.
The call closes on September 15, 2025, and the exhibition will run from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. To apply, email join@chronotopes.net.
