On Wednesday, December 13 at 7:00 pm, Walden Gallery (Buenos Aires) presents the exhibition Territorio - Arte Textil Argentino 1970/1990 with works by Nora Aslan, Nora Correas, Gracia Cutuli, Azucena Miralles and Tana Sachs, curated by Ixchel Ledesma.

PINTA Miami began its second decade dedicating the eleventh edition to the strengthening of dialogues and cultural debates proposed from the full visualization of Ibero-American art. From December 6 to 10, 2017, in the space of MANA Wynwood, located in the heart of the "Miami Art District", 60 of the most recognized art galleries in the world exhibited outstanding modern and contemporary works from throughout Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Spain and Portugal.

On Saturday, December 2, the last Gallery Days of the year arrives. For my nineteenth posting of the Getty-led initiative exploring Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles, we will look at the Skirball Cultural Center’s exhibition ANOTHER PROMISED LAND: ANITA BRENNER’S MEXICO on view from September 14, 2017 through February 25, 2018. The exhibition celebrates a Mexican-American Jewish cultural trailblazer featuring works by luminaries of the Mexican Renaissance including Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco, and Frida Kahlo. The Skirball Museum Director, Robert Kirschner, points out that the museum’s participation in PST: LA/LA fully aligns with its mission to bridge people of diverse heritage and history while learning about its neighbors and consider how it represent cultures that are not their own.  The show is curated by Sharon Lerner (MALI) and Gabriela Rangel (Americas Society of New York) and will be open to the public from November 17, 2017 to March 4, 2018 in temporary rooms 1, 2 and 3 of MALI.

Fernando de Szyszlo (Peru, 1925–2017) has crossed over the threshold of mystery that his paintings so often suggested. Perhaps more than any other master of Latin American modern art, his work brought together the lessons of a lyrical abstraction that never eschewed earthly forms, on the one hand, and the heritage of pre-Hispanic architecture and of its mythical universe, on the other.

Y Gallery presents Raquel Rabinovich’s Thresholds, her second solo show at the gallery.. The exhibition will consist of new paintings and drawings created between 2014 and 2017. This event anticipates her forthcoming retrospective at El Museo del Barrio, that will open in 2019, the year Rabinovich turns 90.

Partidas Simultaneas presents the latest works by Estefanía Landesmann. Curated by Jorge Macchi, the exhibition poses a reflection on the photographic language, questioning conventions of the medium such as the eloquence of the image, its bidimensionality, its ability to record objectively or even the debt it carries with painting.

Graciela Sacco, one of the contemporary Argentine artists who most reflected on political and social violence, died Sunday at age 61 after a long fight against cancer.

Cristin Tierney Gallery is pleased to present Sign of Abandonment, an exhibition of new paintings by Jorge Tacla.
