Agua de luz (Light Water) transmits calm. The tranquility that is achieved by resting the body in a pool. The freshness of water and the dancing of light reflections that seem to have a sedative effect are transmitted in his work.

But Kojiro Takakuwa's work goes far beyond a moment of relaxation. "Since my childhood, I have perceived the existence of something that, despite being there, I could not fully grasp. I constantly wondered what that was and, at the same time, I was anxious about the impossibility of externalizing," begins the artist's statement about this exhibition.

That concern led him to make a discovery while studying linguistics and cognitive science: that constant search was framed in poietic, the creative process of bringing something into existence. "Curiously, faced with the inability to rationally explain what that something is, I dedicate myself to the creation of works of art."

And  this exhibition has inspired poietic, in which the figures of a mother and her baby stand out, sometimes submerged up to the waist and on other occasions, up to their shoulders. Their bodies are blurred by the movement of the water and the light reflected through it.

Takakuwa has placed at the entrance of the exhibition a piece based on the conceptual art of Jiro Takamatsu, "a text that expresses, both linguistically and literarily, the impossibility of explanation".  Inside, he reveals another element of one of his works: "The child functions here as a metaphor for the future.  I believe that the act of creation – poietic – is consummated precisely when the viewer, through his own imagination, completes the work".

Agua de Luz had its opening on March 12.
