ARTISTS FROM ACROSS CHILE CAN BE PART OF THE LARGEST PUBLIC ART CIRCUIT ON THE FUTURE METRO LINE 7
The works selected through the La Ruta del Encuentro competition will become part of the 21 murals of this initiative, which will transform the route between Renca and Vitacura into a new landmark of Santiago's cultural heritage.
Applications to take part in the La Ruta del Encuentro competition are open until September 14, 2026. The competition is seeking 7 works to complete the circuit of 21 murals that will be featured at stations along the new Metro Line 7.
Javiera Chamorro, director of Corporación Cultural Metro Arte, stated: "La Ruta del Encuentro is a unique opportunity for artists' work to engage with millions of passengers, becoming part of a visual journey that will connect territories, communities, and diverse perspectives through art, in one of the country's most significant and democratic public spaces."
The selection of the seven winning works will be made by the competition jury, made up of figures from the fields of art, culture, architecture, communications, and cultural management. Javier Pinto, founder of Corporación MetroArte, chairs the jury, which also includes Rodolfo Andaur, Varinia Brodsky, Daniel Cruz, Paula Solimano, Claudio Engel, Bernardo Oyarzún, Sammy Benmayor, César Gabler, Gonzalo Sánchez Pikti, Patricia Ready, Coca González, Constanza Güell, Guillermo Hevia, Ezio Mosciatti, Rodrigo Guendelman, Javier Goldschmied, Roberto Hernández, Carola Urrejola, the Minister of Cultures, Arts and Heritage Francisco Undurraga, and Andrea Brandes.
