SITE-SPECIFIC OPEN CALL AT PALACIO MOLINA: FINAL WEEKS TO APPLY
GES Desarrollos is driving the 2026 GES Arts Prize, in collaboration with Bandadas, promoting dialogue between art, architecture, heritage and habitable space. Application deadline: August 30.
On July 1, GES Desarrollos launched the open call for the 2026 GES Arts Prize, fully administered and managed by Bandadas. In order to broaden participation opportunities, the application period was extended to August 30, 2026. The initiative invites visual artists from across the country to submit an original, previously unexhibited installation work for a site-specific piece intended for the lobby of Palacio Molina, located in the historic former Alpargatas factory building in the Barracas neighborhood.
The Prize aims to foster contemporary artistic production and promote dialogue between art, architecture, heritage and habitable space. The open call invites artists to develop an original project conceived specifically for Palacio Molina, favoring proposals that approach the space as an integral experience and establish a connection with the building's heritage, historical and urban identity.
The winning project will receive an Acquisition Prize equivalent, in Argentine pesos, to USD 7,000. In addition, the jury will select up to three finalist projects, whose authors will receive a fee equivalent, in Argentine pesos, to USD 1,000 for the development of their proposals.
Who can participate
The open call is aimed at visual artists over the age of 18, native or naturalized Argentine citizens, as well as foreign nationals with legal and effective residency in Argentina for the three years prior to the call's opening. Participation may be individual or collective.
Jury
The jury will be composed of Florencia Malbrán, Guad Creche and Carlos Herrera, together with Guido Barenboim representing GES Desarrollos and Federico Curutchet representing Bandadas. The committee will select up to three finalist projects and, subsequently, the winning project, to be announced in mid-October 2026, as part of Casa FOA.
