PINTA ASUNCIÓN IN NUMBERS: FOUR EDITIONS THAT CONSOLIDATE THE PARAGUAYAN ART SCENE
Since its launch in 2022, Pinta Asunción has established itself as a key platform for contemporary art in Paraguay: four consecutive editions, over 25 artistic spaces, 30 prominent local artists, 70 international guests, and a program combining exhibitions, talks, and citywide activations.
In its three previous editions (2022–2024), aimed at showcasing local talent and building bridges with the international scene, Pinta Asunción brought together nearly 25 artistic spaces, including galleries, museums, foundations, and artist studios, with the participation of over 30 leading Paraguayan artists and around 70 international guests, including curators, museum directors, collectors, and researchers.
More than 700 people attended the open talks of the FORO, while the full program registered over 200 media appearances. Additionally, 20 private companies supported the three editions through sponsorships and collaborations. The fourth and final edition will take place from September 10 to 13, 2025, curated by Adriana Almada and Irene Gelfman, with sponsorship from EFG and the prominent participation of local figures such as Ticio Escobar.

2022 – The first edition
Pinta Sud | ASU debuted in August 2022 with the goal of integrating the Paraguayan scene into the international circuit. It featured 18 local galleries and 7 international galleries, with activities combining art and community: an inaugural concert by the National Congress Symphony Orchestra, film screenings, talks, studio visits, and the family festival Pinta + MAPA. The curatorship was led by Adriana Almada, with the support of Óscar Roldán-Alzate and Verónica Santalla, and key spaces included the Museo del Barro, Fundación Migliorisi, Museo de Arte Sacro, and Fundación Texo.
2023 – Circuit consolidation
From August 7 to 13, the second edition consolidated the diversity of the circuit. La Manzana de la Rivera became the epicenter, featuring exhibitions such as “El país de las mujeres”, “Oquedad”, and “El ombligo del mundo”. Local galleries and established artists participated, while international guests like Pablo León de la Barra, Aimé Iglesias Lukin, Andrei Fernández, and Luis Niveiro strengthened global connections. The edition incorporated site-specific interventions, gallery tours, and a participatory design program with 38 exhibitors, positioning Paraguay as an active and creative space.
