PINTA ASUNCIÓN ART WEEK 2025: THE FINAL EDITION OF A CYCLE THAT TRANSFORMED THE PARAGUAYAN ART SCENE

Formerly known as Pinta Sud | ASU, Pinta Asunción Art Week returns with an edition full of significance as a closing chapter. It is the fourth and final installment of a three-year consecutive program (2022–2024) that, due to the strong reception and request from all participants, added 2025 to properly conclude the cycle in line with the usual timing of Pinta Art Weeks. The curators for this edition are Irene Gelfman (Pinta Global Curator) and Adriana Almada (General Curator).

With a program unfolding across the city, the week invites audiences to explore a scene of growing contemporary and popular expressions, connected to Paraguay’s cultural, gastronomic, and tourist traditions. The opening will take place at Casa Ardissone, which opens to the public for the first time that same day. The program includes exhibitions, gallery and museum tours, and a FORUM with international specialists in dialogue with local leaders (Friday and Saturday) at CAF – Latin American and Caribbean Development Bank and at the Casa de la Integración.

Previous Editions

Between 2022 and 2024, Pinta Asunción Art Week consolidated a network of institutions and spaces through three years of joint work between Pinta and the local scene, strengthening Asunción’s cultural fabric and fostering exchange and projection opportunities. In August 2024, it was announced that that year would be the final edition, in line with the usual Art Weeks schedule; however, due to its success and the request of the community, 2025 was added as the closing year.

With the support of EFG, Pinta’s Global Lead Partner, Pinta Asunción asserts itself as a key platform for cultural, economic, and artistic exchange, promoting collaboration between public and private actors. Pinta —a leading platform for the promotion of Latin American and Central American art— continues its work through Pinta Miami, Pinta BAphoto, and Pinta Lima, and this year also launches Pinta Panamá Art Week, offering experiences to explore diverse art scenes. In Asunción, the cycle concludes, but its legacy lives on in the connections created among artists, institutions, and audiences.
