Espacio El Dorado opens its call to participate in the first edition of Macizo, a design and independent publications fair that aims to gather ideas, initiatives and brands from the creative sector.

The Swedish company specialized in large and medium format cameras, handed out the Hasselblad Award 2018 yesterday - a prize awarded every year to a photographer or prominent artist. The company announced Colombian artist Oscar Muñoz as 2018 winner. 

Convened by COINCIDENCIA- Pro Helvetia program, the Colombian artist Alba Fernanda Triana begins a two-year creative project. With a first journey to the CERN institute - the world's most important particles research center - and the University of Zurich for the Arts (ZHdK) during October, the artist embarks on an extensive research project.

At the Serralves Foundation Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto (Portugal), a controversial North American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe`s (1946-1989) exhibitiom is held since September 20. However, artists, gallery owners and collectors announced their rejection to a series of censorship measures taken by the institution causing the resignation of the Artistic Director of the Serralves Museum and curator of the exhibition, Joao Ribas.

At the Skissernas Museum (The Museum of Sketches for Public Art) of Sweden opens today, October 4, a collective exhibition dedicated to memory. Based on the works of a diversity of artists, including Uruguayan Luis Camnitzer, Memory Matters emphasizes the importance of collective memory in societies.

In the framework of the exhibition Lina Bo Bardi: Tupí or not tupí. Brazil, 1946-1992 inaugurating tomorrow, on October 8^th at Juan March Foundation (Madrid, Spain) The exhibition explained will be held. In conversation with Mara Sánchez Llorens -curator- and Juan Manuel Bonet -an artistic critic specialized in Brazilian art of the 20th century-, the initiative will be moderated by the architect Santiago de Molina.

Until November 4^th at the ICPNA of Miraflores it hosts the second central exhibition of the Fine Arts Museum centennial anniversary: Una trayectoria de imágenes: 1918-2018 (Images trajectory: 1918-2018). The show is curated by Max Hernández and Augusto del Valle in order to make an illustration of the artistic genres developed in that institution during its history.

After his residency at ARTSail, in South Florida, Mark Lee Koven presents One Drop at a Time, an immersive installation where viewers participate in it. Concurring education, technology and art, this experience aims to raise awareness among the public regarding over their environmental environments.

From October 3^rd to January 14^th, at Frank Gehry's building, the Louis Vuitton Foundation will exhibit a hundred works by the renowned artist and painter Jean-Michel Basquiat. The exhibition aims to make a journey throughout the American artist career that goes from 1980 to 1988, because of his early death.

Within the framework of the exhibition Historia de dos mundos (Tale of two worlds), held at the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires (MAMBA) on the occasion of its recent reopening, the institution presents Los elegidos de Greco. Leo García interpreta las canciones de Besos brujos. This will be held on October 11th in honor to the great Argentine artist Alberto Greco.

Until September 30^th, the city of Barcelona has been taken over by twenty-eight galleries. Bringing the local production of the Catalan province to the international scene, since September 26, Barcelona Gallery Weekend  five-day program with guided tours and meetings is held.

From October 17^th to January 13^th, the Palays de Tokyo (Paris) is transformed into an exclusive museum Tomás Saraceno artwork. As part of the Carte Blanche program -started in 2013 with Phillipe Parreno intervention-, the Parisian exhibition center invited the Argentine artist to occupy it's 13,000 m² with his most recent and extensive work: On Air, project that aims to establish an alternative relationship with the planet.

Plastic artist and photographer, with 84 years and an ongoing exhibition at Helga de Alvear Art Gallery (Spain), Helena Almeida died this morning at her home in Sintra, Portugal. With an important number of works, the Portuguese artist was one of the most outstanding figures in European contemporary art.

On Wednesday, September 26, the National Museum of Fine Arts of Buenos Aires (Argentina) inaugurates a J. M. W. Turner solo show. With an unprecedented exhibition in the country, 85 watercolors of the English painter will be exhibited until February 17^th.

Twilight, compiles a series of works made by the artist in relation to the Cuban political and social situation during the process of progressive disintegration of the revolution.

Mexican LABOR art gallery opens this afternoon Cenote, the fourth solo exhibition that Pablo Vargas Lugo (1968) will hold in this space. From September 25^th at the New Museum in New York, Sarah Lucas: Au Naturel, great retrospective of the controversial and diverse work of the British artist Sarah Lucas will take place. Recognized from her participation in the Young British Artists (YBA's), Lucas is one of the pioneers and referents of the ready-made, mainly addressing gender and cultural identity issues.

At El Tranque Cultural Center (Chile), since August 31, an individual exhibition is held in honor of Roser Bru, the Catalan artist recognized in 2016 with the National Prize of Plastic Arts. Vínculos y complicidades (Links and complicities), carried out in the neighborhood of Lo Barnechea has the curatorship of Beatriz Huidobro Hott.

On September 14^th at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation (Washington), two exhibitions inaugurate at the same time: Ruth Asawa's Life's Work, and Lola Álvarez Bravo's Picturing Mexico.

From damages -ecological, social, human, etc.- generated by the mass consumption system that currently prevails, Patricia Camet exhibits in PONCE + ROBLES a unique work. Composed of plastic waste, Emoticons x M2, the work of the Peruvian artist consists of more than 1300 objects grouped into small "communities" that evoke symbols.

In the Portuguese architectural space Casa da Arquitectura, Infinito Vão will open on September 28: a collective exhibition that covers ninety years of Brazilian architecture. In the new contemporary art space The Intuitive Machine -art gallery located in Santiago, Chile-, Giróvago, by Vicente Matte. Constituted by a series of paintings, the exhibition that inaugurated the new Chilean gallery will remain until September 14.

With a complete program BAphoto auditorium was one of the main attractions of the fair. Figures such as Matías Feldman, Mercedes Funes, Marina Font and Andrés Ditella made of the the auditorium a center for debate and reflection.

Officially inaugurates BAphoto 2018, the most important photography fair in Latin America. After a lunch between gallerists, collectors and artists, Diego Costa Peuser, director and founder of the fair, Enrique Avogadro, minister of culture of the city of Buenos Aires, and Pablo Avelluto, secretary of culture of the Nation, made the traditional cut of tape.
