MY BODY, MY RULES – LAST DAYS AT THE PÉREZ ART MUSEUM MIAMI
The all-female group exhibition examines the mainstream portrayal of women, confronting the stereotypes, violence, limitations, and ideals imposed on the disputed image of the female body. Featuring 23 diverse female artists, the works in the show come together to address contemporary discussions on gender, race, body politics, resilience, and self-representation amid today’s social landscape.
MY BODY, MY RULES is conceived as a chant of empowerment with the aim of stimulating awareness and asserting women’s authority and power over their own experiences. By condemning gender inequality, revisiting traditional roles, deconstructing labels, and reclaiming power, each work in this exhibition offers a platform for reflection on the contemporary female image narrative through a feminist lens. Together with a variety of accompanying programs, this exhibition showcases the artists’ diverse cultural influences, prompting a collective, in-depth dialogue on how women have the right to their own lives and own bodies.

The exhibition features artworks across all mediums, such as painting, sculpture, photography and video. “It was important to place all of these works as a group to highlight that many depictions of women in this way seen in art history were through the male gaze, but in this instance, the women photographed here are being captured through a female lens or through their own eyes, taking ownership of their own representation within art” said Jennifer Inacio, who conceived and organized the exhibition.

The world famous photography art fair announces the participation of 177 exhibitors from 25 countries for its 24th edition at the Grand Palais Ephémère in Paris. Alongside the usual Main Sector, Paris Photo presents Curiosa, dedicated to emerging creation, and Elles x Paris Photo, focused on the visibility of women photographers.
PRODUCTION / REPRODUCTION - SANDRA GAMARRA’S INDIVIDUAL EXHIBITION AT MALI
The Museum of Art of Lima - MALI presents this exhibition of the outstanding Peruvian artist curated by the historian and art critic Luis Eduardo Wuffarden. Based on the so-called mixed race paintings commissioned by Viceroy Manuel de Amat y Junyent and sent to the King of Spain Carlos III in 1770, Sandra Gamarra commissioned their reproduction to a copyists' workshop in China. On these she added quotes from different contemporary feminist thinkers. In response to the absence of original works in Peru, this series, made up of twenty paintings, has been donated by LiMac to the MALI collection of contemporary art.
BROOKLYN MUSEUM EXHIBITS CHRISTIAN DIOR: DESIGNER OF DREAMS
The New York premiere of the exhibition Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams traces the groundbreaking history and legacy of the House of Dior. The exhibition brings to life Dior's many sources of inspiration—from the splendor of flowers and other natural forms to classical and contemporary art.
FOUNTAINHEAD ANNOUNCES $100,000 GIFT FOR A CLIMATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY RESIDENCY
Miami-based residency program Fountainhead announced a $100,000 donation in honor of Jane Wesman, an accomplished publicist, art collector and philanthropist who has long supported the organization and its mission. The donation secures funding for The Climate and Environmental Sustainability Residency, which will select three painters whose practice considers climate change as an important subject matter. The residency will launch in April 2022.
VARIATIONS ON A THEME - THE McMULLEN MUSEUM OF ART IN BOSTON EXHIBITS MARIANO RODRÍGUEZ’ RETROSPECTIVE
