ArtHaus (Buenos Aires) presents Estado de Asamblea (Assembly Status), a project by Gabriela Golder that brings together video installations, archives, texts, songs, posters, and testimonies that take the assembly as a device for action. The exhibition features five works across different spaces of the institution and can be visited through January 17, 2027.

In Estado de Asamblea, women and gender-diverse people of different generations and territories take the floor, vote, and propose. The assembly, the project notes, is not represented: it is produced. Golder's work raises questions about collective organization in the face of the rollback of rights and the violation of the commons, as well as about the way the art system accommodates political urgency and transforms the relationship between political expressions and artistic practices.

The exhibition is activated on October 3 with La Asamblea, a live event in which discussion, singing, performance, and collective participation transform the exhibition space into a place of deliberation. The question running through the project is: what is to be done?

"The works in Estado de Asamblea insist on something very elemental: being present, taking the floor, listening to others, and deciding together what we do," says Gabriela Golder.

For his part, Sebastián Vidal Mackinson, director of the Visual Arts area at ArtHaus, describes the exhibition as one that "sheds light on situated relationships between art and politics in the present times, where encounter and the formation of communities are indispensable to the functioning of both democracy and art."

Estado de Asamblea can be visited through January 17, 2027, at ArtHaus, Bartolomé Mitre 434, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
