LUCÍA ANTEBI: CONVERGENCE OF THE EARTHLY AND SPIRITUAL, AT LE MUR

From 05/01/2025 to 07/12/2025
Madrid, Spain

Le Mur gallery, in its vision of becoming one of Madrid's leading spaces for photographic exhibitions, presents Eclipse by Lucía Antebi (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1976). This project is rooted in capturing moments of intimacy, exploring the relationship between space, a certain mysticism, and adolescence. All of these elements revolve around one of the central themes of the Argentine artist’s work: the intrinsic beauty found in the mystery of the cosmos.

LUCÍA ANTEBI: CONVERGENCE OF THE EARTHLY AND SPIRITUAL, AT LE MUR

The snapshots, taken in Madrid’s Buen Retiro Park between 2018 and 2020, trace an introspective journey that culminates in an ecstasy seemingly bringing her irrevocably closer to a state of contemplative and spiritual perfection. In this way, Eclipse does not aim to pose questions or offer perspectives to the viewer, but instead invites recognition of a coexistence between the earthly and the real, and the infinite realm of the empyrean.

Antebi initially conceived Eclipse as a photobook, and through this exhibition, it expands in conceptual possibilities. It thus occupies a physical space, almost as a vessel for the philosophy it embodies. Here lie two key elements of her artistic practice: the relevance of technical rigor and the importance of an aesthetic sensibility that defines a particular style.

In addition to the framed works on display, the photographer presents a series of unique, edited analog snapshots. In this way, Antebi uses the exhibition process to emphasize and connect the slow, methodical nature of her proposal with its final result.

Eclipse is on view until July 12 at Le Mur, Amaniel 20, Madrid (Spain).
