A COLLECTIVE EXHIBITION AT FUNDACIÓN PABLO ATCHUGARRY

O Cio da Terra, Ócio da Terra cycles of fertility and pause, features the following artists: Albano Afonso, Afonso Tostes, Bárbara Wagner & Benjamin De Burca, Bel Falleiros, Bené Fonteles, Brígida Baltar, Celeida Tostes, Cristiano Lenhardt, Efe Godoy, Efrain Almeida, Ernesto Neto, Elza Lima, Gustavo Caboco & Lucilene Wapichana, Ivan Grilo, Jorgge Menna Barreto e Joelson Buggila, Juliana Lapa, Kamikia Kisêdjê, Laura Gorski, Lia Chaia, Lídia Lisbôa, Marcia Xavier, Mariana Berta, Mônica Ventura, Rafael RG, Renata Cruz, Rosana Paulino, Rose Afefé, Sallisa Rosa, and Teresa Siewerdt.

The exhibition O Cio da Terra, Ócio da Terra echoes voices advocating for the rights of life, reforming unproductive areas, and preserving the sacredness of the earth. In that sense, the group show generates narratives resonating with 'florestania,' a conception of the future that replaces some principles of citizenship with forest knowledge and a way of life. One of these narratives is the cycles of pause and fertility that characterize all life forms as a derivation of 'ócio' (idleness) and 'cio' (estrus).
