The call is aimed at artists, cultural producers, curators, photographers, dancers, performers, filmmakers, biologists, sociologists, anthropologists, geologists or any discipline in the field of art or science, who are looking for a space and time to produce, share, reflect and experience their artistic practices and research of interest, in the biodiversity of the environment of the Las Piedras Nature Reserve, in the southwest of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

 

The proposals should include a reflection on the current environmental problems. They can be works or research projects begun or to be done. The Pastizal Residency aims to generate collaboration and exchange links between people related to the arts, with theoreticians, scientists and researchers who are currently working with regenerative issues.

 

Participants will receive support from the Pastizal team to develop strategies to implement projects and research. Observation, exploration and research of the environment will be addressed.

 

The residency lasts 15 days, from April 14 to 28, 2024, and is designed for four residents who can be Argentine or foreign. During the residency, training workshops on fungi and lichens will be offered by the organization Hongos de Argentina.

 

Pastizal Residency has a cost of 500USD for national residents and 1000USD for international residents. The residency includes: workshops and theoretical training classes on fungi and lichens; accompaniment, discussions and support in production and research; accommodation in the Las Piedras reserve; lodging in shared rooms; shared work spaces; transportation to and from the town of Pigüé; and an exhibition of processes open to the community.
