PAMM LAUNCHES OPEN CALL FOR DIGITAL ART COMMISSIONS
The inaugural program invites experimental digital works from the crossroads of the Americas. Deadline: July 31.

The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) offers financial support to artists producing experimental digital works in South Florida, Latin America, the Caribbean, and within the African diaspora. Selected artists will be eligible for awards ranging from $1,000 to $15,000, over a period of approximately twelve months. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.
By encouraging the creation of innovative digital works that reflect PAMM’s unique position at the crossroads of the Americas, this open call seeks to strengthen artistic representation and production in these regions. Its goal is to expand the study and interpretation of contemporary digital art internationally, advancing the museum’s mission to lead its presentation.
“This open call aims to strengthen new media practices within PAMM’s scope and redirect the history of digital art beyond what is typically presented in museums and galleries,” said Jay Mollica, PAMM’s Senior Director of Digital Engagement. “The economic, artistic, and academic opportunities this program offers are vital for our digital art ecosystem to thrive in South Florida, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the African diaspora,” added Lauren Monzón, Program Manager of Digital Engagement.

The Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), under the direction of Franklin Sirmans, who holds the Sandra and Tony Tamer Director position at PAMM, promotes artistic expression and the exchange of ideas; fosters public understanding and appreciation of art, architecture, and design; and reflects the diversity of its geographically strategic community at the crossroads of the Americas. This South Florida institution, with a 41-year history and formerly known as the Miami Art Museum (MAM), opened its new building—designed by world-renowned architects Herzog & de Meuron—on December 4, 2013, in Maurice A. Ferré Park in downtown Miami. The museum is a leading example of sustainable design and innovative programming, with 200,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces for activities, including flexible galleries, shaded outdoor terraces, a waterfront restaurant and bar, a museum shop, and an education center with a library, multimedia lab, and classrooms.
