OPEN CALL FOR RESIDENCY GRANTS AT DGARTES / AiR 351 PROGRAMME
AiR 351, the non-profit independent organization committed to promoting art residencies and public programs, presents three full grants for a visual arts residency program located in Cascais, Portugal.
This call is an opportunity made possible by Direção-Geral das Artes through the funding program “2021 Apoio a Projetos, Artes Visuais – Criação e Edição”. It includes three fully sponsored grants, aiming for 4-month long residencies, especially targeted for artists and curators who, independently of where they are based, derive from the PALOP—Portuguese-speaking African countries. Artists and curators at any stage of practice are invited to apply.
AiR 351´s professional development program anchors itself on the thriving local art scene and stretches over a national and international network. Its team provides regular curatorial and technical expertise, consolidating the production of new works. Through institutional partnerships, AiR 351´s activities encompass a variety of contexts such as museums, universities and art schools, where a diverse range of public programs take place.
These residencies will occur in 2022 and during the first semester of 2023 at AiR 351´s headquarters in Cascais, Portugal, exact calendar to be determined between the organization and the selected grant recipients.
Application process.
Applications for DGARTES / AiR 351 grants can be sent until November 12, 2022. All applications documents must be included on the same file (1 document only, 10 MB max) containing: Personal information (contacts); Letter of motivation including a brief description of current practice, statement of intent and goal of the residency (500 words max.); Curriculum Vitae; Portfolio; Optional: letters of recommendation (3 max). Applications must be submitted via email to applications@air351.art, subject DGARTES / AiR 351 Grants. All materials of application should be written in English.
