OPEN CALL: CASA ALBERTO HEREDIA RESIDENCY PROGRAM 2025–2026

The Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires announces the national open call for the 2025–2026 cycle of its Casa Alberto Heredia Residency Program, aimed at artists and professionals in the fields of art, culture, and education from across the country. Applications will be accepted until May 31, 2025.

OPEN CALL: CASA ALBERTO HEREDIA RESIDENCY PROGRAM 2025–2026
Open

Housed in the former home and studio of artist Alberto Heredia (1924–2000), which he bequeathed to the museum, this is the first residency in Argentina to operate under a public institution. Inaugurated in 2023 and restored thanks to the support of Fundación Azcuy and private sector partners, the house has become a space for artistic research, production, and exchange. In constant dialogue with the Museo Moderno team, it offers a dedicated work environment in the heart of San Telmo, just 800 meters from the museum.

The program will grant residencies ranging from 14 to 29 days, taking place between August–December 2025 and March–June 2026. It includes accommodation, domestic travel, daily stipends, institutional support, and professional networking with members of the local arts community. Throughout the residency, participants will be encouraged to engage in conversations, training sessions, and collaborative activities with various departments of the museum, such as curatorial, collections, conservation, exhibition design, education, and publishing.

The open call is available to Argentine citizens and foreign nationals who have resided in the country for at least three years and live outside of Buenos Aires City and its metropolitan area. Priority will be given to proposals that engage with the Museo Moderno’s research lines and focus areas, including modern and contemporary Argentine art, art and education, design, materiality, accessibility, sustainability, community, and territory.

Applicants must complete an online form. The selection process will be carried out by a jury composed of professionals from the Museo Moderno, along with leading figures from Argentina’s curatorial and artistic fields. Selected residents will be announced between July and August 2025.
