PINTA PArC: THE EPICENTER OF LATIN AMERICAN ARTISTIC IDENTITIES

In this 2023 edition, Pinta PArC –the most important contemporary art fair in Peru– celebrates its 10th anniversary.

PINTA PArC: THE EPICENTER OF LATIN AMERICAN ARTISTIC IDENTITIES

It features with the participation of more than 200 artists and cultural institutions such as MALI, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima, Icpna Miraflores, MAC, Corriente Alterna, among others. Pinta PArC continues seeking to disseminate the richness of the region's artistic ecosystem.

It opened on Wednesday 19 and will run until April 23, 2023. Integrated to the Pinta universe, the fair is articulated with powerful curatorial axes and alternative views that dialogue between regional and global, traditional and contemporary. Pinta PArC, with EFG Wealth Management as Main Sponsor, can be visited at the emblematic Casa Prado (Av. 28 de Julio 878, Miraflores).

As always, the fair stands out for its experimental and ambitious program and for a careful selection of galleries. Its Main Section will feature the participation of 45 galleries of great local and international trajectory. In addition, the Solo Dúo Projects section is curated by Florencia Battiti and explores the concept of contemporaneity, focusing on one or two artists per gallery. The NEXT section, curated by Florencia Portocarrero, showcases galleries and emerging artists from the regions of Salta, Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Cusco and La Paz.

In parallel are Amazonías and the Sculpture Garden. Through the vision of Gredna Landolt, Amazonías explores the multiverse of 'What the eyes do not see' and exhibits renowned artists of native peoples. The Sculpture Garden is curated by Max Hernández Calvo and reflects on the relationship between the natural and the built. Finally, Irene Gelfman's Video Project section presents the moving image with proposals on the environment and the posthuman.

In the already renowned Media Point section produced by Veronica Santalla, Pinta PArC shares with the public: Open Files, videos focused on artists and details of their works; Live Talks, virtual and face-to-face talks on topics of interest and Guided Tours of the fairs by invited experts. The Forum, a series of lectures curated by Miguel A. Lopez, will explore topics such as "Geographies and Diasporas in the museum", experimental curatorships and Latin American art criticism. Among the participants are Cuauhtémoc Medina (chief curator of MUAC-UNAM), Carolina Ponce de León (researcher and independent curator, Bogota), Gerardo Mosquera (writer, curator and editor of Beyond the Fantastic, Madrid) and important gallery owners from the region.
