LINETT, ZEVALLOS VILLEGAS AND SARAVIA: LATIN AMERICAN PRESENCE IN VISIÓN Y PRESENCIA 2026
The performance cycle Visión y presencia, organized by the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, reaches its fifth edition. The program brings together women artists who, through diverse action-art proposals and in line with the curatorial approach of previous editions, address issues of social and political relevance such as feminism, memory and decolonization. Throughout the year, the invited artists will activate different spaces within the museum, transforming them into settings for reflection and action.
This edition once again features a Latin American presence, enriching the range of critical perspectives from which the performances address their subjects and themes. The artists in the program who foreground these voices are Cheril Linett, Kay Zevallos Villegas and Maya Saravia. Cheril Linett (La Florida, Chile, 1988) will present Frontera in March, an action through which she explores the physical and symbolic limits of territories and identities, offering a critical analysis of migration from a feminist perspective.
Kay Zevallos Villegas (Lima, Peru, 1989) will present Primi-tiva: como planta a la tierra in May, a performance that connects cultural roots, identity and nature, proposing a dialogue between tradition and modernity through actions that evoke the power of the natural world. In June, Maya Saravia (Guatemala City, Guatemala, 1984) will explore, through Night Shift, the rhythms and tensions of labor, identity and migration in order to reflect on memory and reveal the invisibility of certain social groups.
Visión y presencia 2026 runs until 16 December in a series of sessions held at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, Paseo del Prado, 8, Madrid (Spain).
