LIMA GATHERS SPECIALISTS FROM FIVE COUNTRIES TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF LIBRARIES
The 10th International Seminar on Library and Information Science – SIBI 2026 takes place on June 25 and 26 at the Goethe-Institut Perú and ICPNA Miraflores.
The Instituto Cultural Peruano Norteamericano (ICPNA) and the Goethe-Institut Perú present the tenth edition of the International Seminar on Library and Information Science – SIBI 2026, under the title Libraries in Transformation: Artificial Intelligence, Community and the Future of Knowledge. The event will take place on June 25 and 26 at both institutions' venues in Lima, bringing together specialists from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.
The program combines keynote lectures, panel discussions, and specialized workshops addressing the challenges facing information management in a context of rapid technological change. Planned activities include Strategic Use of Artificial Intelligence in Research: Beyond Automation, Artificial Intelligence for Information Retrieval and Systematization, Intensive AI Training Workshop, and Reinventing the Library: Implementing Artificial Intelligence for Future Services.
The seminar is aimed at professionals, educators, researchers, and students in Library and Information Science, as well as the general public interested in the transformation of the sector. Lectures and panel discussions will run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Goethe-Institut Perú auditorium. In the afternoon, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., specialized workshops will take place at ICPNA Miraflores.
