THE SMALL AND THE EVERYDAY AS SENSIBLE MATTER IN DANIELA LIBERTAD
The Mexican artist’s exhibition at N/F Nieves Fernández explores the relationship between the body, everyday objects, and geometric forms through a balance between the material and the immaterial, with a particular focus on the observation of the small as a trigger for experience, thought, and shifts in perception.
The Madrid-based N/F Nieves Fernández hosts Hay poder en lo pequeño (There is power in small things), a solo exhibition by Daniela Libertad, in which the artist explores, through drawing, photography, and video, the relationship between the body, everyday objects, and geometric forms. Rooted in her practice, the proposal investigates the coexistence of the material and the immaterial through a tense physical equilibrium, where density and perception emerge as essential elements.
The exhibition advocates for a sustained attention to what usually goes unnoticed. Small gestures, actions, and daily transformations become the starting point for questioning the boundaries between the physical and the mental, the abstract and the figurative, and how these conditions shape our perception of the everyday. These seemingly minor elements, once activated, operate as triggers of personal experience capable of altering both environment and time.

Hay poder en lo pequeño can be understood, in this sense, as a biographical self-portrait of the artist’s time in Germany, a personal period in which Libertad navigates the challenges of inhabiting a new place alongside the experience of childcare. Exhaustion, learning, and constant negotiation lead her to reflect on both internal and external limits, unfolding a contemplative inquiry into processes of change, belonging, and the construction of home.
Daniela Libertad. Hay poder en lo pequeño is on view until July 30, 2026 at N/F Nieves Fernández, Calle Blanca de Navarra 12, Madrid, Spain.
