In a historic operation that nearly doubles its holdings of modern and contemporary Latin American art, the museum moves forward with the expansion of its headquarters and consolidates its position as one of the region’s leading international institutions.

If there were no way to create something new—believing everything has already been done—if every form of creative intelligence were exhausted, then it would be time to unearth hidden worlds.

The first large-scale exhibition of Latin American art in the West Asia and North Africa region has opened: LATINOAMERICANO. Modern and Contemporary Art from Malba and Eduardo Costantini Collections.

The sincere fiction crafted by the Argentine artist captivates and steals the voice of those who come to see it. Honest and raw, it reveals the indelible traces of history.

Observing through George Friedmann’s lens allows one to grasp the power of photography and the charm of artistic fusion. Eso que llaman amor (That Which They Call Love) highlights the beauty of what is carefully constructed yet retains the fragility of the unexpected.

Malba announced that Rodrigo Moura (Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, 1975) will be the museum's new artistic director. With a solid background in important cultural institutions and an internationally renowned Latin American curator, Moura will be responsible for giving the museum visibility and presence on a global level, broadening the understanding and scope of the Collection and developing the program of temporary exhibitions at Malba and Malba Puertos.

In the centennial year of the birth of visionary Argentine artist Gyula Kosice (b. Ferdinand Fallik; Košice, Czechoslovakia, 1924 - Buenos Aires, 2016), Malba presents a monographic exhibition dedicated to his work, with the purpose of highlighting his pioneering role and repositioning him in the international context of postwar art.

The Malba museum in Buenos Aires, Argentina expands with the construction of Malba Puertos, a new exhibition space in Escobar, province of Buenos Aires. It opens on September 21 and seeks -through activities and exhibitions- to bring art closer to the community.

Malba announces the eagerly awaited arrival of Leonora Carrington's The Distractions of Dagoberto (1945), one of the most significant works by the celebrated surrealist artist, which was acquired in May by Eduardo F. Costantini at Sotheby's at a record price.

Rosana Paulino. Amefricana is the most complete exhibition outside Brazil of this artist born in Sao Paulo in 1967. The exhibition at Malba brings together a group of works made during 30 years, between 1994 and 2024, from the perspective that the Atlantic inscribes in the Afro-descendant America.
