THE CURATORIAL TEAM FOR THE 37th BIENAL DE SÃO PAULO ANNOUNCED

Following the announcement of Amanda Carneiro and Raphael Fonseca as chief curators of the 37th Bienal de São Paulo, the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo revealed the curatorial team that will accompany the realization of the exhibition. The group is composed of Ana Salazar Herrera (Ecuador & Portugal), Léuli Eshrāghin (Sāmoa, Australia, Canada), Rado Ištok (Slovakia), Ryan Inouye (United States), and Yina Jiménez Suriel (Dominican Republic), as well as curatorial assistants Amanda Tavares and Mayara Carvalho, both from Brazil.

Spanning trajectories connected from Latin America to Oceania and beyond, the curatorial team contributes a broad range of experiences and perspectives to the development of the exhibition, which is scheduled to open in September 2027.

For chief curators Carneiro and Fonseca, "the curatorial team […] has trajectories linked to different contexts, yet shares a common interest in the Bienal de São Paulo, in Brazil, and in a collaborative curatorial practice. Their experiences in curating, research, critical writing, community-based practices, and large-scale projects strengthen an edition that unfolds through multiple voices, worlds, and languages. […] It is a joy to work with colleagues we admire and with whom we share intellectual affinities, ethical commitment, and the desire to think of the Bienal as a platform for research, imagination, encounter, and meaningful engagement."
