Independent critic, curator, and researcher of Latin American art.
For more than 25 years, she was a member of the curatorial team of the Havana Biennial and its organizing institution, the Wifredo Lam Center. Within that event, she was responsible for research and the selection of works from the Southern Cone countries.
She has published on Cuban and Latin American art and on the Havana Biennial in specialized journals such as Third Text, Arconoticias, Atlántica, ArtNexus, Arte al Día, ARTISHOCK, Inter Art Actuel, Arte Cubano, among others in Europe, Latin America, and Canada. Her texts appear in the anthologies Critical Thought in New Latin American Art, published in the Canary Islands in 2006, and Havana Biennial. Critical Words 1984–2019.
She has delivered lectures on these topics at universities and cultural institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, Cuba, and Canada. She has curated exhibitions of Cuban art abroad and served as curator of the Cuban Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019.
Her books Latin America: Contemporary Art from the Southern Cone and 15 Artists from the Southern Cone are currently in the process of publication.
