2018 PALACIO PIEDRAS RESIDENCY
Palacio Piedras Residence (RPP) is a residence by invitation and without ends of work integrated into the annual program of exhibitions during the month of July. The residence proposes to rethink the exhibition space as it self. To do so, the organizers of the same invite an artist to occupy the gallery for a month, transforming the area of reflection and production. The residence is designed to go through any stage of the process in which the artist is: research, experimentation, production, introduction, blocking and even leisure.
This year, the gallery chose Clara Esborraz, the argentinian artist, to attend the second edition of the Palacio Piedras Residence. Since July 8th to August 4th (29 days) the space of the gallery is used as home and study of Esborraz her self.
At the same time, during the course of the residence, a series of departures and visits to the study coordinated together will be proposed. The final day of the residency a public or private closing activity proposed by the artist at the gallery is held. This activity can be any format. Palacio Piedras Residence covers all the expenses of the stay and support will accompany and provide what is within their reach for the realization of the final activity.
Clara Esborraz (Rafaela, Santa Fe, 1991) has a degree in Fine Arts from the National University of Rosario and in 2015 she was benefited with the training, meeting and production scholarship La Basurita Workshop of the National Arts Fund, a charge of Carlos Herrera and Claudia Del Río. In 2017 she made the Artists Programm of the University Torcuarto Di Tella, coordinated by Carlos Huffmann, thanks to the support of the Ministry of Culture and Education of Rosario.
Esborraz also participated in different individual and collective exhibitions: : La torpeza emocional: Ensayo I (Emotional Awkwardness: Essay I), Gallery PIEDRAS (2017); Necesito que dibujes mis rodillas otra vez (I need you to draw my knees again), Diego Obligado Art Gallery (2017); Project A Award, Project A Gallery (2017); LXX National Salon of Rosario, Museum of Contemporary Art of Rosario (2016); El procedimiento Silencio (The Silence procedure), Space Foundation OSDE (2016); LXIX National Salon of Rosario, Castagnino Museum (2015); Con la fuerza de lo etéreo (With the strength of the ethereal), Old Market Cultural Complex, within the framework of the AJA (Active Young Artists) convocation of the Municipal Museum of Art "Dr. Urbano Poggi "by Rafaela (2015).
