The BID and other Institutions are Summoning Emerging Artists

We are pleased to announce the call for entries to participate in an exhibition of visual arts inspired by the idea of change, featuring artists from Latin America and the Caribbean region working in all media. This project is under the auspices of the World Bank Vice Presidency for Latin America and the Caribbean Region, the World Bank Art Program, in partnership with the Cultural Center of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the Art Museum of the Americas, from the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat.

Submissions must be received by the World Bank Art Program no later than April 30, 2010 and selected artists will be notified by the end of May, 2010.

The World Bank Art Program promotes emerging visual artists from around the world in recognition of the importance of art and culture to social cohesion and economic growth.

*This deadline does not apply to Haitian artists affected by the January 2010 earthquake. An exhibition dedicated to Haitian artists based in Haiti will be scheduled for 2012.
