PENUMBRA FOUNDATION OPEN CALL FOR PHOTOBOOK PROGRAM
Penumbra Foundation, the non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive resources to photographers of all levels, is offering a new call for applications for an intensive program where the artist will be guided through each step of the creation of a photobook. The deadline for registration is October 15, 2022.
LONG TERM PHOTOBOOK PROGRAM:
Whether you have an idea for a project that is intended for the book form or are already working on one, this intensive and comprehensive program is designed to guide you through every step of the process of making a photobook. The objective is to have a physical maquette or artist book ready to present to publishers or to self-publish, upon completion of the course.
The program combines online seminars, guest artist critiques and individual sessions, as well as optional in-person and online workshops. It is structured to offer the full learning experience 100% online, but for those participants who live in or can travel to New York City, the organization will offer optional in-person classes to supplement the initial plan.
Application requirements include a brief biography, a project statement, a description of what each artist would like to get out of the program, up to 20 images of current work and, finally, a brief online interview.
The deadline to apply is October 15, 2022 and the program will run for a full year.
