BACÁNIKA PRESENTS THE 2020 ARTE JOVEN AWARD
Closed

For thirteen years, the Young Art Award has witnessed the evolution of contemporary art in Colombia. Installations, photographs, paintings and videos have paraded through its salon, and the prices it has given have supported the career of artists such as Sebastián Carrasco, Juan Pablo Uribe Morales, Santiago López Carmona and Juliana Góngora, who were awarded first place in the last four editions.

Taking into account the impact that the crisis generated by COVID-19 has had on the creative and cultural sectors, the dynamics of the Young Art Award were rethought for the 2020 edition. There will be two central changes: in addition to two winners, who will respectively receive $ 30,000 .000 and $ 15,000,000 Colombian pesos, there will be eight finalists who will each receive a stimulus of $1,500,000. As part of the prize, the two winners and the eight finalists will each receive one day of media coverage by Bacánika.

The award jury will be assembled by recognized figures in the arts: The curator Ximena Gama; The gallery owner Carlos Hurtado; a Representative of Colsanitas; and a Representative of the Spanish Embassy in Colombia
