arteBA 2018 was officially inaugurated with the presence of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Pablo Avelluto, Minister of Culture of the Nation, Enrique Avogadro, Minister of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires with the president of arteBA Foundation, Alec Oxenford and Gabriel Martino, president of HSBC, Main Sponsor of the fair. During the inaugural event, the Head of Government referred to arteBA as the most important moment of the year for culture, Avelluto celebrated the modification of the law for the circulation of works of art, Enrique Avogadro stressed the great artistic potential of the city and Alec Oxenford thanked the private and state contribution to arteBA Foundation to carry out this event that brings together the main leaders of culture in the world.

WORK BY ELBA BAIRON FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE FRANKLIN RAWSON MUSEUM

THE ACQUISITIONS OF MATCHING FUNDS ARTEBA - CITY BANK.

The program that was born in response to the need for museums to incorporate their works of Argentine artists into their collections, made their acquisitions during the First Choice of the fair. The Municipal Museum of Fine Arts of Tandil was able to acquire the work of Carolina Antoniadis, Rizoma (2017), a painting of 100 cm x 200 xm, in ink, acrylic and lacquer from the Diego Obligado Gallery in Rosario. The Museum of Contemporary Art of Salta, acquired two works: The Silver by Agustín Sirai, acrylic on canvas of 120 x 40 cm in the gallery Miranda Bosch and another by Chiachio & Giannone, I Fiori, from the Kabuki series, an embroidery by hand about handkerchief 2005 in the gallery Ruth Benzacar. Finally, the Contemporary Art Museum of the South of Lanús selected Niña Argentina (2017) by Nora Iniesta, 110 x 140 cm from Galería del Infinito and Dreaming the Dream, by the artist Juan Andrés Videla, 45 x 55 cm, from the Gallery Jorge Mara

 

EL MOLAA TAKES A LOS ANGELES WORK OF MATÍAS DUVILLE

Lourdes Ramos, President of the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) of Long Beach (United States) arrived at arteBA 2018 with the intention of increasing the museum's collection. In this edition, it was defined by the work of Matías Duville from the Barro Arte Contemporáneo gallery, Infinito Red Sunset, sanguina on 100 x 70 cm paper.

MACBA ACQUIRES WORK OF LUIS WELLS, MARTINA QUESADA AND PABLO ACCINELLI

Today, the Contemporary Art Museum of Buenos Aires │ Fundación Aldo Rubino selected three works to add to its collection. MADERO HARBOR ACQUIRES TWO WORKS FROM CYNTHIA COHEN DE GALERÍA MAMAN FINE ARTS

For the fourth consecutive year, Madero Harbor maintains its commitment to promote the incorporation of works of art in the development of Real Estate, promoting cultural and commercial exchange. The critic and curator Florencia Battiti was in charge of selecting two works by Cynthia Cohen from the Maman Fine Arts gallery, Untitled (Vase) of 220 cm x 170 cm and a gem, also without title of 2017 of 170 x 190 cm.

 

MALBA ACQUIRES THREE PHOTOGRAPHS BY LEANDRO KATZ AND ONE BY TERESA MARGOLLES

In this edition, MALBA decided to select three photographs by the artist Leandro Katz from the series. The Catherwood project, at the Henrique Faria gallery: Tulum, after Catherwood (El Castillo), a print on silver gelatin 33 x 42.5 cm from 1985; Estela B, Copán, printed on 50.8 x 40.6 cm silver gelatin from 1988 and Uxmal - Casa de las Palomas, printed on 40.6 x 50.8 cm silver gelatin. LUCY MATTOS MUSEUM: ABEL RODRIGUEZ AND SILVANA PESTANA

Lucy Mattos Museum participates for the first time in the Federal Museums Program and brings to its collection two works: Arbol Natural (2018), by Abel Rodríguez, acrylic on 52.5 x 72.5 cm paper from the Institute of Vision and Lady of Cao (2017) , S / T from the series by the artist Silvana Pestana from the Ginsberg gallery in Lima, made of ceramic and metal with variable measures.

 

10TH EDITION OF IMPULSARTE: LA RURAL ACQUIRED 4 WORKS OF ARTEBA

Within the framework of its program to stimulate contemporary art, La Rural acquired 4 works by emerging artists, which will be incorporated into its collection, created in 2009 with the aim of encouraging national artistic production. The new works are: Untitled (from the Visiones series) (2018) by Malena Pizani, photography edition 1 of 3, 100 cm x 70 cm in Ruby Gallery; A Black Line (2018) by Gilda Picabea, oil on canvas, 112 cm x 58 cm, 2018 in Hache Gallery, Premojis by Ana Clara Soler, watercolor on paper, 115 cm x 75 cm, 2018 in Galería Miranda Bosch; Untitled (2018) by Federico Lanzi, acrylic on acrylic, 100 cm x 70 cm, 2018 in María Casado Gallery. With this new purchase, La Rural made 10 editions of sustained participation in the Procurement Program and its collection reaches 50 works. The pieces were selected by the Acquisition Committee integrated by Victoria Verlichak, Eva Grinstein and Juan Pablo Maglier (Director of RRII of La Rural).

In the 27th edition of arteBA, the Castagnino + Macro Museum joins the Federal Museums Program and acquires two works.
