The inaugural exposition was Rhythmic Paintings, by the Venezuelan artist Carlos Cabeza, who has lived in Paris for more than 20 years. Rhythmic Paintings is a series that is integrated by curved lines that create a sequential pattern to form human figures, mostly feminine, with vivid eye color. The exhibition is composed of 15 works, generally big, like Rhythmical Construction, 2010, of 92 x 192 inches, and included painting, carvings and objects. “Carlos Cabeza’s work is based in continuity and rhythmic movement inside a space. His inspiration comes from a spiritual vision and flows from his mind to the canvas-almost as if he was whistling”, says Ascanio. The recognized art critic and historian Alfredo Boulton has states that “Cabeza’s individuality of expression places him in a special niche in contemporary painting”.

Carlos Cabeza’s exposition was opened until October 9th. From the 16th of October to the 13th of November, O.Ascanio Gallery will present a Nanín exposition- Recent Works 2010, with the work of the great Venezuelan artista that intervenes with the almost musical modulations of a very personal alphabet with which his language is constructed.
