MUJERES EN ACCIÓN - PROA FOUNDATION PUBLICATION ON COLLECTIVE CREATION AND URBAN SOCIAL MOVEMENTS

Drawing a map of the South American region, this publication presents a selection of the work of five artistic groups from different countries in our continent: Urban Seams (Argentina), Public Women (Argentina), Women Creating (Bolivia), La Perrera (Peru), m.a.m women artists on the move (Uruguay), who from the beginning have seized public places, and used art tools and practices to channel their different struggles.

The edition highlights the presence of these groups in the Acción Urgente exhibition, curated by Cecilia Rabossi and Rodrigo Alonso, in 2014, in which an extensive and varied panorama of the various actions carried out in urban space was presented. Along with Interviews, unpublished videos and a set of critical essays by specialists Rodrigo Alonso, María Teresa Garzón, Belén Romero Caballero and María Laura Rosa. All elements that, brought together, result in a fundamental book for the understanding of public spheres and artistic activism.
