Ignacio Liprandi presents “Allá y ahora, aquí y entonces”, by Mauricio Lupini

Ignacio Liprandi Contemporary Art presents the second solo exhibition of the Venezuelan artist Mauricio Lupini. His work is characterized by reviewing the modern legacy in Latin America, and by recurring to geometric exploration he addresses the topicality of this heritage through installations, photographs and videos.
Interested in perception, his works sometimes use extremely fast or slow images, seemingly repetitive, almost invisible, or supposedly turned off videos that challenge the viewer's attention span, and propose a direct confrontation with a problem.
In this opportunity, by using red lines and flat surfaces the viewer gets immersed in an illusory three-dimensional experience that evokes three living spaces of Mexico City, Rio de Janeiro and Caracas, built between 1950 and 1965, and relates them to the architecture of the gallery, a residential apartment from 1910.
The works propose actions that allow experiencing the dislocation of space and time that the title of the show announces. Lupini reviews the gap between modern utopia and contemporaneity, and these actions invite the viewer to confront that distance and imagine a possible route.
