Daros Latinoamerica Announces its Upcoming Exhibitions

Since the beginning of the year 2000, Daros Latinoamerica has been devoted to building a collection of Contemporary art from Latino America. Today the collections contains the work of over 100 artists.

Although Daros remains closed for renovation of the Löwenbräu-Areal until 2012, in the interim Daros Latinamerica Collection will be holding temporary exhibitions twice a year as guest of the Migros Museum for Contemporary Art in Albisriederstrasse. There will be a group of clue exhibitions along the 2011.

Nicola Costantino (March 5 - May 15, 2011). One of Argentina’s most intriguing and exciting artists will have a major solo show, with its objects, installations and photographs from the 1990s to the present day, offering a close look at her fascinating and compelling work. Her exhibition will be the first show of Daros Latinamerica Collection as guest of the Migros Museum for Contemporary Art, in its new exhibition space at Hubertus Exhibitions in Zürich’s Albisrieden district.

Luis Camnitzer. (February 2 - May 29, 2011) The exhibition of work by Uruguayan artist Luis Camnitzer, on view in 2010 at Daros Museum in Zürich, will go up on February 2, 2011, at the Museo del Barrio in New York. Some 70 pieces, from 1966 to the present day, offer profound insight into the conceptual artist's oeuvre.

Other exhibitions featuring works from Daros

La Mirada. Photographs and videos from the Daros Latinoamerica Collection. The exhibition shown in Zürich from 2002 to 2003 and Bogotá in 2005, continued in revised form to Salzburg. Featuring some 100 photographs and 15 videos from the Daros Latinamerica Collection, the exhibition runs until January 16, 2011, at the Museum der Moderne in Salzburg, Austria.

Everything. Guillermo Kuitca. Paintings and Works on Paper, 1980-2008. (Until January 16, 2011)

The comprehensive exhibition Everything, featuring some 75 works by Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca, reaches the final stop on its US tour when it arrives at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, DC.
