CIFO Announces its Museum & Curator Network
The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO) is proud to announce the redesign of the www.cifo.orgwebsite. The new website includes features and functions that allow CIFO to fulfill its mission of promoting art from Latin America on a global scale. Included in the new website is Fund-A-Project, CIFO's own micro funding platform, the CIFO Art Community and the CIFO Museum & Curator Network.
The CIFO Museum & Curator Network is an online interactive community on www.cifo.org where curators, art professionals and museums can join the artists in the CIFO Art Community to initiate dialogue, expand research and enrich programs and initiatives worldwide. CIFO has been building a curated database of the most innovative emerging and mid-career contemporary artists from Latin America by way of its Grants and Commissions Program. This database has grown to include over 600 artists working in different media and includes extensive profiles on each artist with contact information, artist statements, exhibition histories, samples of previous work, blogs, and more. In an effort to broaden our mission to expand the understanding of contemporary art from Latin America, CIFO is now sharing this valuable database with art professionals and institutions worldwide.
Among the reasons that CIFO mentions for joining the network are the following: to investigate the latest trends in contemporary art from Latin America; to connect with fellow colleagues in the art world; to take advantage of CIFO’s source of centralized information from Latin America; to look for artists for upcoming projects; to create dialogue and expand your network; and to create online exhibitions from a databse of artists profiles. The service is free.
About CIFO
The Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO), is a non-profit organization established in 2002 by Ella Fontanals-Cisneros and her family to support artists who are exploring new directions in contemporary art. CIFO fosters cultural understanding and educational exchange through three primary initiatives: a Grants and Commissions Program for emerging and mid-career visual artists from Latin America; an exhibition program showcasing international contemporary art from the Ella Fontanals-Cisneros Collection at the CIFO Art Space; and foundation-initiated support for other arts and culture projects.
