A YEAR WITH CHILDREN: GUGGENHEIM’S ART-EDUCATION PROGRAM
The exhibition A Year with Children 2021 will showcase selected artworks by New York City public-school students in second through sixth grade who participated in Learning Through Art (LTA), the Guggenheim’s pioneering education program.
During LTA’s year-long residency, professional teaching artists partner with classroom educators in each of the city’s five boroughs to design collaborative projects that explore art and ideas related to the classroom curriculum.
A Year with Children 2021 celebrates the program’s fiftieth anniversary, telling the story of this unique year and LTA’s history as a hallmark arts education program serving NYC public schools.
This year, LTA was carried out remotely due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, with students participating from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island.
