Ph.D., art historian, independent curator, and Fulbright grantee, has taught, lectured, and published extensively in the United States and abroad. Her doctoral dissertation is "Ana Mendieta in Iowa (1969-1978): A Critical Study," City University of New York (1997). Dr. Herzberg has organized more than thirty-five exhibitions of artists, including Carlos Alfonzo, Leandro Erlich, Magdalena Fernández, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Leandro Katz, Wifredo Lam, Iván Navarro, Pepón Osorio, Liliana Porter, Raquel Rabinovich, Lotty Rosenfeld, Juan Sánchez. Notably, she curated The Decade Show: Frameworks of Identity in the 1980s, presented in the Museum of Contemporary Hispanic Art, The New Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Studio Museum in Harlem (May-Aug. 1990), as well as the Official US Representation for the III International Biennial of Painting Cuenca, Ecuador (Oct.-Dec. 1991). Dr. Herzberg is on the Sculpture Committee for The Fund of Park Avenue and is a Board Member at The Cintas Foundation. She has contributed over 60 reviews and articles to Arte al Día.
