From March 27, the Museum exhibits a thematic survey of contemporary art in Mexico over the past 20 years, a period during which Mexico has become a nexus of the global art scene. Drawing from the Colección Jumex and including invited artists and organizations, Normal Exceptions considers undercurrents in artistic practices that connect with life and its material traces. The exhibition will fill the entire museum with more than 60 works by artists based in Mexico, including those of international origin, and Mexican artists living and working abroad.

Digital artwork by humanoid robot Sophia was sold at auction on Thursday for $688,888 in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT). The work, a self-portrait titled “Sophia Instantiation”, was made in collaboration with a ‘real life’ artist.

The Contemporary Art Museum of Barcelona (MABA) inaugurated the exhibition Félix González-Torres. Politics of Relationship. Curated by Tanya Barson, the retrospective dedicated to the Cuban artist brings together more than forty artworks, including a series of installations and works located in different public spaces in the Spanish city.

GOOD TO KNOW.FYI presents A Subtropical Affair III curated by Omar López-Chahoud, opening as the final segment of the three-part exhibition series A Subtropical Affair, which opened during Miami Art Week 2020. This final iteration explores our social and personal connection to nature and the strained relationship between man and man’s habitat.

The Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo (CA2M) is preparing two solo exhibitions dedicated to two fundamental Spanish artists of the second half of the 20th century: Javier Utra. An anamorphic portrait and Nacho Criado. Not the Voice Crying in the Desert. Both exhibitions are part of the reconfiguration of the history of contemporary art in Spain, its precedents and the continuation of the cultural scene based on the figure of fundamental artists of the time.

Curated by Gabriela Rangel, Verónica Rossi and Santiago Villanueva, the show takes as its starting point the influence of psychoanalysis on Argentine art and its establishment as a vector of modernity in the country. The selection of works is based on the weight that this field of knowledge and therapeutic practice exerted and still does, which became idiosyncratic of the national, to exhibit modern and contemporary Argentine artists who dialogue with different aspects, themes and problems of psychoanalysis.

The Spanish art gallery Cámara Oscura inaugurated the group exhibition Instant Life. Under the curatorship of Juan Curto, the exhibition project invites eight artists to review their portfolios and select a work in dialogue with the curatorial proposal.

UK’s largest international contemporary art prize hosts a virtual exhibitions of its finalists before announcing the winner on April 15th. The artists are: Firelei Báez (Dominican Republic), Dineo Seshee Bopape (South Africa), Meiro Koizumi (Japan), Beatriz Santiago Muñoz (Puerto Rico), Prabhakar Pachpute (India) and Carrie Mae Weems (USA).

At Max Estrella gallery in Madrid the collective exhibition El todo es más que la suma de las partes (The whole is more than the sum of its parts) opened. The artists Hisa Ikenga (Mexico, 1977), Inma Femenía (Spain, 1985) and Leyla Cárdenas (Colombia, 1975) present a series of artworks on the oeuvre-perception relationship that is aligned with the Gestalt psychoanalytical and humanist current.

Under the title of "Flags and pennants: Evita", Fátima presents her first institutional exhibition in Buenos Aires. Curated by Eva Grinstein, the exhibition refers to the imagery of demostrations, feminism, Peronism and the artist's otaku passion.

The loan of more than 100 works to the Museum of Modern Art includes the Birkenau series, the fruit of decades of work as an artistic response to the Holocaust.

Curated by Carlos Zevallos Trigoso, Paola presents the current state of her inquiries about the image in its broadest conception: as technologies of representation, but also as an abstract space from where the worlds that we culturally experience are produced, mixed and confused. Through video art and the appropriation of images from different regimes, the exhibition proposes an encounter between graphics, specifically poster design, and some contemporary visual landscapes. The Meadows Museum (Dallas, USA) celebrates the 20^th  anniversary of its new building with an exhibition —Building on the Boulevard: Celebrating 20 Years of the Meadows's New Home— dedicated to its collection of Spanish art, the largest and most important outside Spain. The exhibition opened on Sunday 14^th and features artworks by Velázquez, Ribera, El Greco, Murillo, Goya, Miró, Picasso and Dalí, among many others.

Art breaks with the familiar and opens people’s eyes to new visions of the future: art creates utopias. Tools for Utopia tells the story of political and social oppression, but also of a cultural spirit of revolution; it shows how art became the tool of change in Latin America. The exhibition takes as its starting point the tradition of abstract and concrete art in countries including Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay from the 1950s until the 1970s, and presents an insight into the artistic work of Latin America.

Curated by Eugenie Tsai, the exhibition can be defined as a mid-career retrospective that delves into pop-culture not only by participating in it, but by feeding it. In that way, it highlights the power of connection, of community, of kinship. 

Today, Live on Instagram, Aimé Iglesias Lukin, director and chief curator of Americas Society Visual Arts, will host a conversation with the contemporary artist.

The new museum presents the Helga de Alvear Collection exhibition. Curated by José María Viñuela (Cáceres, 1944), the exhibition consists of 150 artworks by artists such as Joseph Beuys, Doris Salcedo, Yves Klein, Ai Weiwei, Goya, Louis Bourgeois, Olafur Eliasson and Lucio Fontana, among many others.

The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) presents, from March 25^th, the exhibition “The accidental canon. Women artists in Argentina (1890-1950) ”, curated by researcher Georgina Gluzman. The show will bring together more than 80 works (made by 44 artists) with the intention of questioning the stories established in Argentine Art History and recovering the figure of these creators, many of them ignored or unknown.

The biggest group exhibition of Latin American female artists, this projects aims to highlight a group that has been historically underrepresented. “Through meaningful and memorable initiatives like this one, we aim to contribute to the art landscape in an impactful way”

Situated between kinetic art and op-art, Pantone's work for this exhibition is an exploration of colour and light, the boundaries between the analogue and the digital, and the interaction of the viewer with the artwork.

In the first anthological exhibition of Elda Cerrato (Argentine born in Asti, Italy, in 1930), artist and teacher of Argentine artists, the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires presents a selection of works spanning fifty years of production carried out between Buenos Aires, Tucumán and Caracas. In both its artistic and academic development, Cerrato's work offers a unique symbolic, conceptual and ethical fabric, in which the diverse trends of 20th century Latin American art resonate, as well as the social, political and cultural dynamics of the region.

The second season is just a few days away and opens this March. After a successful launch with the first season, where the artists exhibited, the foundation created by Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza announced three of the artists who will exhibit in st_age: Diana Policarpo (Portugal), Courtney Desiree Morris (United States) and Claudia Comte (Switzerland).

How does race structure America’s cities? MoMA’s first exhibition to explore the relationship between architecture and the spaces of African American and African diaspora communities, Reconstructions: Architecture and Blackness in America presents 10 newly commissioned works by architects, designers, and artists that explore ways in which histories can be made visible and equity can be built.

The XXI Support for Young Generations Art Contest gave nine winning artists the opportunity to exhibit their projects at the cultural centre La Casa Encendida. In addition, the Montemadrid Foundation  —the entity that directs and manages the centre's activities— gave an amount of 10,000 euros to each of the artists so that they can continue to develop their work.

El peso de la forma. El diseño gráfico de Carlos Cruz-Diez is the result of a collaboration between the Archivo Fotografía Urbana (Caracas, Venezuela) and the Cruz-Diez Art Foundation (Paris, France).

El Museo del Barrio is the first and leading museum in the country dedicated to preserving and presenting Latino art and culture. ESTAMOS BIEN - LA TRIENAL 20/21 is the Museum’s first large-scale national survey of Latinx art. Curated by El Museo del Barrio’s Chief Curator, Rodrigo Moura, Curator Susanna V. Temkin, and Guest Curator and Artist Elia Alba, the exhibition is on view to the public from March 13 to September 26.

Curated by Thyago Nogueira, coordinator of Contemporary Photography at the Moreira Salles Institute in Brazil, the exhibition covers the entire photographic production of one of the key figures in understanding the genocide of the aboriginal communities of the Amazon, mainly the Yanomami people.

The Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA) presented its complete programme for 2021. Among the activities and exhibitions, two stand out: a retrospective of the Cuban visual artist Félix Gonzalez-Torres (Guaiamaro, 1957 - Miami, 1996) and the rescheduling of the exhibition of the Rafael Tous collection, originally scheduled for November 2020.
