ÓSCAR MURILLO AT PORTO’S SERRALVES
A distribution through several of the Porto’s Serralves Foundation's venues are hosting until the end of May the first solo exhibition of Oscar Murillo (Zarzal, Colombia, 1986) in Portugal.
Together in Our Spirits is made up of a selection of representative pieces from the Colombian artist's latest productions, in addition to new proposals created specifically for the three exhibition spaces in which the show is divided.
In this proposal, curated by Inês Grosso and Filipa Loureiro, Murillo focuses on offering an approach from different angles to concepts hidden under communitarian, collectivity and public spaces. Thus, he delves deeply into these social elements of gregarious nature, but does not leave aside the analysis of the impact of other elements inherent to the mankind and that lead to understand a whole in which the spiritual has the same impact that can have geopolitics, globality and globalization. All these interpretations, as well as the forms and techniques employed by the Colombian artist, endow his works with multiple forms of expression and readings.
Together in Our Spirits is on display until May 26 at Serralves Foundation (Galeria Contemporânea, Hall do Museu and Capela da Casa de Serralves), Porto, Portugal.
