Lima Photo - Second Edition

Lima Photo 2011, the International Fair of Art Galleries specialized in photography, will be held for the second consecutive year at Centro de la Imagen, in Lima, Peru from 10 to August 14, 2011. This edition will also present the "Repsol - Lima Photo 2011" award which aims to become one of the highlights in the region. The finalists, already selected for this year, will have a prominent display space at the fair.

Lima Photo - Second Edition

The jury, which has a first prize of US$ 3500 and a second prize of US$ 1500 respectively, comprises a dozen figures from the art world, among who are the photographer Roberto Huarcaya and critic Jorge Villacorta.
During five days, photography will have an exceptionally important role in Lima, the capital city of Peru. The Fair will be attended by international galleries from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Spain and the United States. These galleries will share space at Centro de la Imagen with the most important galleries of Peru to show a significant selection of contemporary photographic production. Argentina will have a strong presence with 11 participating galleries from Buenos Aires and Cordoba.
Among the busy schedule of cultural activities that take place during the fair, the critic and curator Rodrigo Quijano will moderate a number of planned activities planned in the venue auditorium. Among the highlighted events are "New markets and photography", "Experiences related to the file", and "The art collectives." In addition, there will be a tribute to the renowned photographer Charles "Chino" Dominguez and the launch of the most recent publication by the artist Juan Manuel Figueroa Aznar.
