THE BUENOS AIRES MUSEUM OF MODERN ART ANNOUNCES THE FINALISTS OF THE 2nd EDITION OF THE AZCUY PRIZE

Azcuy, a Real Estate company that develops, plans, builds and markets residential buildings, and the Museo de Arte Moderno Buenos Aires announced the seven projects selected as Finalists in the Second Edition of the Azcuy Award.

Those chosen from more than 1,100 applicants from all over the country are: Adriana Bustos for her project “Mundo Imaginal” (Imaginal World), Valentín Demarco (untitled project), Mariana De Matteis for her project “Paisaje Errante” (Errant Landscape), Juan Gugger (untitled project), Mónica Heller for her “Pequeño museo vivo para la regeneración de la atmósfera terrestre” (Small living museum for the regeneration of the earth's atmosphere), Ramiro Pons Quesada for her project “Los intercesores” (The Intercessors) and the collective “Blinky Caballito” (Laura Ojeda Bär and Matías Malizia) for their project “El maravilloso universo de la arena” (The Marvelous Universe of Sand).

 

The artists will compete for a prize of 800,000 argentine pesos in addition to the production of their unpublished work, which will be paid for entirely by Azcuy, to be exhibited as a site-specific piece on the ground floor of DONNA Acqua, one of the buildings that the company is building in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Caballito.

The Jury that must choose the winner from among these finalists is made up of: Victoria Noorthoorn (Director of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires), Fernanda Brenner (Founder and Director of Pivô, São Paulo, Brazil), Mónica Giron (artist), Carlos Huffmann (artist and director of the Art Department of the Di Tella University), Javier Villa (Senior Curator of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires), Alejandra Aguado (Curator of the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires) and Sol Juárez (Architect, Creative Project Manager, Azcuy).

 

The announcement of the winning work will take place in the month of November.
