PINTA MIAMI- GONZALO FUENMAYOR WINNER OF THE EFG LATIN AMERICA ART AWARD

EFG Latin America Art Award, in partnership with ArtNexus, celebrates its 10th year after being created to support artists in Latin America. Of the nominated artists, Fuenmayor was announced as the winner today at Pinta Miami Live.

PINTA MIAMI- GONZALO FUENMAYOR WINNER OF THE EFG LATIN AMERICA ART AWARD

The works were nominated through a jury at contemporary art fairs in the region in an initiative that aims to promote the production of visual arts in Latin America. The nominated artists were Camila Botero (ArtBo), Daniel Jablonski (SP Arte), Daniel Otero Torres (arteBA), Gonzalo Fuenmayor (ArtLima and PArC), Musuk Nolte (Ch.ACO).

Represented in PArC by the gallery El Museo (Bogotá), Gonzalo Fuenmayor (b. 1977, Barranquilla, Colombia) is an artist based in Miami who works mainly with drawing. Gonzalo has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in the United States, Latin America and Europe and his work was recently exhibited at The Florida Prize 2018, Orlando Museum of Art, Orlando; a solo exhibition "Tropical Mythologies" at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in 2015; "Caribbean Crossroads", at the Queens Museum, NY; as well as recent solo exhibitions at Dot Fiftyone Gallery in 2018 and Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco in 2016.

 

The EFG Latin America Art Award is an acquisition award, so EFG Capital will acquire a representative work of art by Gonzalo Fuenmayor. The entire collection of the EFG Latin America Art Award is on permanent display at EFG Capital's Miami offices.
