The Foundation announces the Marta García-Fajardo International Art Prize 2021, with the main objective of contributing to the support of artistic practice and the promotion and dissemination of the visual arts. It is aimed at young artists of any nationality and place of residence, who will have total freedom in terms of themes and presentation disciplines.

It will be valued especially among the applicants, their artistic career, the socio-cultural discourse raised and their international projection. Those interested will have a period between January 27 and April 12 to present their works online. Each participant may present from one to two works, the bases being detailed on the web www.fundacionmariajosejove.org . The ruling will be made public on June 3, 2021.

The jury of the contest is made up of the president of the María José Jove Foundation, Felipa Jove; Manuel Borja-Villel, director of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid (since 2008), director of the Fundació Tàpies in Barcelona (1990-1998) and the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona, ​​MACBA (1998-2008); Catalina Lozano, curator and independent researcher based in Mexico City and director of Latin American Programs at KADIST, associate curator at the Museo Jumex in Mexico City (2017-2019), in charge of the Gasworks artist residency program in London ( 2008 and 2010) and part of the artistic team of the 8th Berlin Biennial in 2014; Manuel Segade, curator, researcher and writer, director of the CA2M (Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo) in Móstoles; content coordinator at Metrònom - Fundació Rafael Tous de Barcelona (2005-06); chief curator of the CGAC (Centro Galego de Arte Contemporánea de Santiago de Compostela) (2007-09) and curator of the Spanish pavilion at the 2nd Biennial; And by Susana González, director of the FMJJ Collection, project manager and independent curator.
